Just how stable is V2010

Thread needs solution

I was going to upgrade from XP & ATI V9 but, having read about all the problems that people have had, I am seriously considering my options.

Just how bad/good is ATI V2010? I will be using the 32 bit version of WIN7

I would hold fire and wait for at least 1 more build.

ATI V2010 is the most stable dependable program I have. The only time I have had a problem with it was due to hardware issues I didn't realize I had. Once those were fixed ATI v2010 went back to being the best program I have on my machine. It produces the fastest, smallest backups using the fewest resources and offers the most scheduling options of any of the backup programs I have tried.

However, based on this forum I am obviously the only person that ATIv2010 works for. Noone else appears to have gotten it to work and for everyone else the program is either a bug filled mess or the worst program ever made and that is provided they were even able to get it to install.

I would recommend that you download the free trial, do a backup with ATI V9 from a CD and then give it a try. Who knows? You might join me and become only the second person to get the program to work. If you have the time evaluate the program for yourself.

I am using Windows 7 home Premium 64 bit.

Just this year I upgraded to a Win7 64 bit system with a Sata drive. Ver 2010 build 5055 installed without a problem. I've done a few backups from within Windows and with the Rescue CD. I also did restores with the Rescue CD. I do not do clones nor incremental and differential backups. Not do I mess with Non-Stop Backup nor automatic backups.

I even restored to an eSata drive and the system can boot from the drive while connected to the eSata port - yes, you read that right ... Windows will boot from an external drive that is connected to an eSata port.

Within those limitations build 5055 has performed correctly every time. I don't even need a BartPE version of the Rescue CD.

So Lester I'll join you, if I may, as the second person who's satisfied with the software.

Well I am not happy with the software. I have a "minor" issue to which is a programming glich (I'm a programmer so I know when there is a bug in the software).
I was given a new build but it didn't solve the problem.
Was told to uninstall using the Window cleanup program, check disk, reinstall still no joy. then I was told I was running a gb version and not the en version to which acronis gave me more instructions. I did and now I cannot install the program at all (comes up with a registry problem). So now I have no backup solution.

The previous version was very stable but was not compatible with Win 7 hence me buying ATI 2010.

Also support will email you everyother day which is really annoying.

So imo stay away from ATI 2010.

A troglodyte still running XP SP3, I have had a very positive experience with TIHome 2010 6053. I recently added a new, larger disk to my setup and was able to create a bootable disk running in Windows (post 7968). I could get neither 11 nor 2009 to create restorable backups and upgraded to 2010 after extensive, successful testing with the trial version. I later found my multitudinous problems with 2009 were apparently because of conflicts with Spy Bot. Unfortunately, W7 seems to create real issues wit 2010. Reading the Forum, it's obvious that different system configurations have different problems, or none at all. The best advice I got was to stick to the basic functions and use the trial version to determine how 2010 will work for you. You can't know until you try it.

 Hi DwnNDrty,

Have you been successful in restoring an Image you made from within Windows 7? I tried to restore an image made from ASZ and it failed.
