Just need a couple items from the previous image file

Thread needs solution

True Image 2013

I performed a refresh on my wife's PC today, upgrading her motherboard, CPU, and RAM. Same case, SSD, and PSU. After the hardware swap, I installed Windows 10 Home, upgrading from Windows 7 Home Premium.

On my NAS is her most recent backup .tib from less than 24 hours ago. It's a full backup, not an incremental.

I wanted a fresh Windows install, so there was no plan to use the backup image, until I realized her Thunderbird installation had a ton of user created folders that were not saved or backed up anywhere. Plus, I somehow overwrote her .kdb file and lost a ton of recent passwords.

I'd love to be able to pull out the Thunderbird profile from C:\Users\Wife\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles, and of course that .kdb file. I've never had to use my backups. They've just been created every week for the last five years or so. As a result, I have zero experience actually utilizing the backups.

Is this possible considering the move to Windows 10 from 7? Is what I'm trying to do possible at all? Maybe asking for a human readable set of files from a complex backup is a tall order.

Colin, welcome to these public User Forums.

ATI 2013 is not compatible with or supported for installation on Windows 10 but you could download and install a 30-day trial copy of the latest ATI 2019 which would then allow you to use the Windows shell integration provided by Acronis to access your .tib backup file by double-clicking on it in Windows Explorer.

The alternative approach would be to use your ATI 2013 rescue media to boot the computer and use this to recover the selected files / folders from the NAS, but you will need to have a wired network connection to the NAS as the media does not have wireless support.

If you don't have the ATI 2013 rescue media, then provided you registered this to your Acronis account, you could download an .ISO image of the rescue media from the account and create a CD from this.
