Just ran the update, and next backup got error: "Failed to Initialze Server" - Wrong Product?

Thread needs solution

Here's what happened: the other day, on launch I got a message telling me there was a new version available of Acronis True Image, so I clicked through and allowed the update, which completed as normal. I've noticed now that I have an ADDITIONAL icon on my desktop for Acronis Online Backup, but I don't want to back up online, I've got everything set up here to run the backups to an external 1TB hard drive.

But now my backup (configuration is still the same as before: backing up to my external hard drive as always) is FAILING with error message "Failed to Initialize Server."

So now do I have the WRONG VERSION of Acronis on this system? Did it somehow end up being the Online backup, which I DO NOT WANT??!! I've never even clicked on that new desktop icon for the "Acronis Online Backup." The REAL one I want is still there: "Acronis True Image Home."

How do I get my backups to still run to the 1T external hard drive that was working just fine all along? Did the update make it so I can only now back up over the 'net??!

The update cannot change anything in your backup settings. You can:
- export your backup settings,
- uninstall ATI,
- reboot,
- install the latest build, choose custom installation and do not install online backup,
- import your backup settings.
