Keep computer on during back up...per GroverH's Guides
I am implementing GroverH's guidance to keep the computer on during back up and have created the two Power Plans, ie "Normal" and "AlwaysOn."
However, when I save the scripts in Fig 14 and Fig 15 as .CMD Files they remain as Windows Script Files and cannot be opened to insert the new Power Scheme Plan's GUIDs.
What am I doing wrong?
Regards.....Noel
PS I'm on Win 7

Many thanks, GroverH.
Everything working now and I am very pleased with the result.
I have a spare external drive, smaller than the two internals and the two back-up externals, however, I have now to pluck up courage to test a Recovery!
I can easily recover individual files, however, can you point me in the direction as to how to recover a disc?
I presume it is not possible to test the recovery of Win7, or is it? Sounds scary!
Regards and thanks again, for your patience and help.

My signatue link 3 shows how to recover 2014 backups to a new or old disk. Use whichever is approprite to your target disk size or situation.
You can recover to your existing system or to a new disk. Any recovery wipes out the data on the target disk.
Spend some time on youtube using Acronis as part of the search words. There are a multitude of help video's there about Acronis plus video's on how to install hard drives into both laptops or desktops. You will be amazed at how much help you can find regarding your computer training needs via the youtube videos.

Thank you very much GroverH.
I will start with your Guides, they are so well presented and unambiguous. However, I would never have looked to Youtube, so thanks for that.
As usual, so grateful.
