large backups.. ? accurate estimate of size

Thread needs solution

My backup was listed as 600 gb... but was actually 900. Is there any way to get a more accurate estimate?

It was listed where as 600 and showed up as 900 where? If on the main screeen in ati2011, where it lists your backups (it lists tasks actually) it reports a different figure than is the sum of the backups that Windows Explorer shows, that happens sometimes as ati2011 sometimes will exclude some backup files from a particular set showing on the ati main screen. N that case, explorer the backups on ati2011 and find which ones it is including and then, using windows explorer delete the others or move them to another location. Odds are that, if ati2011 isn't counting all the backups in a particular set, then it won't take them into account when it tests the user-set limits on backups and could end up with too many backups.

It's a quirk inthe way the database in ati2011 works. Sometimes, if you edit a task, ATI2011 will no longer count all of the backups you have previously made with the task. In that case, delete the task, delete or move the backups and start with a fresh task and empty directory for the backups.
