Licensing / Imaging

Thread needs solution

Hello at All,

sorry my english isn't good.
I've a question about licensing. I work for a little company with 20 to 30 employes.
All of these are laptop-users, we provide 3 types of different systems.
My Idea was, to create a standard image from each of this 3 types.
If there is a problem with one of this, i only have to reimage this device.
Or a new colleague starts to work, a new system is prepared in less then 20 minutes.

My question is, wich kind of licensing i have to use?
The idea was to buy one product (Acronis true Image Home) for each kind of devices.
In this case maybe three Licences. Then i create this image and copy the image into the network storage.

Thanks for your help.

Hello Michael,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to give you a clear explanation, but first can you please clarify what types of operating systems do you have on your computers?

You can of course use Acronis True Image Home 2010 to create images of all machines and store that images on network location. Note according to Acronis software licensing policy, you should purchase one copy of Acronis program per each machine it will be used with. Also please note that Acronis True Image Home 2010 supports the following operating systems:

  • Windows XP SP3
  • Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
  • Windows Vista SP2 (all editions)
  • Windows 7 (all editions)

You can also use Acronis bootable disc to backup/restore Linux based machines. If you intend to purchase multiply licenses contact me via private message and I will provide you a discount.

I may also recommend you to have a look at Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server. It simplifies and automates backup and restore processes across Windows and Linux environments, and remotely monitors and manages geographically distributed servers and workstations.

If you don’t use server operating systems in your environment you may be interested in Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Workstations.  You can remotely backup and restore remote machines using one centralized management console.

See user guides for more details.

Let me know if you need further assistance or have some questions.

Thank you.
