Linux .ext's

Thread needs solution

Hello all,
Acronis 2010 V-7046 can't seem to recognize my Linux "Mint Isadora 9" ext-4 correctly on the "backup screen" TI shows my Linux Hard drive as ext3 ? So according to the manual TI can do ext3 , but when you try ...TI "chokes, and you can only do a "Sector X Sector" image ? Any Ideas ? Regards Fred

Fred,

You asked this same question two weeks ago and an Acronis moderator replied that Acronis doesn't support ext4, so you'd have to do SxS backups only. I then replied that I have successfully used Clonezilla to backup and restore a Ubuntu ext4 partition, and it clearly reports it as ext4 format during the process. Burn a Clonezilla ISO boot disk and give it a try.

Doug,
Hello... Yes you are correct, but my question is .....Why does TI see "ext4" as an "Ext3" ? If TI doesn't support ext4 it shouldn't say that it is an ext3. Also i do use "Clonezilla". The question still stands ... TI should not tell \show "ext4" as a "ext3" as this was responsible for confusion and misleading me in the first place. Regards Fred
