Login for sync

Thread needs solution

Hi there,

to be honest,

i really cant understand the fact, that i have to log in on the acronis server if i want to create an local snc task.

Ok maybe necessary for sync via cloud but a simple local synchronisation should not need any contact to acronis.

Are there any data that will be transvered to acronis during a local sync and without activation of version history?

Read my post from earlier today ("need explanation regarding sync"). The sync process remains a mystery to me. I cannot tell how this whole thing works anymore. What you read on the website and help files don't really match what happens when you start the process! I have no idea why I get forced into "Acronis backup drive" even though I have no desire to be there.

BTW, I yet to sync anything successfully; local or remote. All I get is unknown errors and program crashing. I have an open ticket on this and will post if I here anything back. So far this does not look like a finished product.

I believe the system uses the log in to ensure only authorised PC's are able to access each other as far as the synching feature is concerned. It also of course ensures you have no more than 3 PC's with TIH installed.

Hi Colin

to ensure that at2012 is only installed on valid numbers of pcs and authorised i thought we have the activation process?

But for local synchronisation between computer and usb/nas there is absolute no need for an login on the acronis server.

The login may be necesary if you activate the "version history" feature (that saves versions o the online storage) or if you wanna sync via cloud.
