Logon failure

Thread needs solution

Today I opened up TIH to find that all my scheduled backups (I have six) had failed with the reason "Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password".

I periodically change my Windows login password (as we are advised to do) and this is presumably why the logon failed.  But TIH gave me no indication of failure outside the Task Log window itself - no pop-up messages or even requests for the correct password.

Is this what you'd expect?

Hello Robert,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

The program requires Windows authorization for a scheduled task execution. That is why you should enter your account name and password both to let Acronis True Image log in Windows with Administrator's rights and execute a scheduled task. The user name should be specified in the form of SERVER\USER or DOMAIN\USER.

I understand that.  I'm just saying I think the program should prompt for the information if an attempt to logon fails.  Or at least have a pop-up message saying it failed.  Without opening the application I am unaware of any problems.

Hello Robert,

The main Idea of tasks themselves is unattended and hidden actions, except one pop up informing you that task has been started. Current versions of our programs do not support errors reporting.

But it is a good idea to add them to our pop ups, I will forward the suggestion to responsible person.

Thank you.
