Long running Online backup blocking local backup

Thread needs solution

It appears that True Image 2013 can only perform one task at a time. I am using the online backup and I want to add some additional data, but I think this additional data could take a couple of weeks to finish. Based on what I have been seeing so far, my local backups will not run until the online backup has completed. Is there a way to let the local partition image backups running while the online backup is running? I am also noticed that running the DriveCleanser functionality blocks the backups from running also. Seems like a horrible limitation to not allow some of these tasks to run in parallel. So, is there a setting I a turn on to allow tasks to run in parallel?

Brad,

OLB can be paused, but I'm not sure if this allows an on disk task to then run.

Not being able to run a task whilst drive cleanser is running makes sense. How would you sort out something that is in the snapshot of the disk which is subsequently removed by drive cleanser, should it be in the snapshot image or not? It also makes things less corruptible if only one process of this nature is run at a time.

The ability to pause tasks and start another one could be a useful enhancement.

Thanks for the reply. I am cleaning up a bunch of spare drives I have lying around. I understand if you were trying to cleanse a drive that was part of the backup there would be problems, I should have been more clear in my scenario. I might try the pause idea. I could also, just cancel the running online backup and let it pickup where it left off the next time it starts.

Thanks again.

Brad
