looks like 2 instances of acronis 2009

Thread needs solution

with acronis 2009 and now acronis 2010, when I start them up it runs real slow and gives me 19 hrs to backup. this is on the progress screen.

the backup is real slow. I shut down  Acronis and then it starts to backup normally. The icon in the tray stays, when i mouse over it --it will show the percent it has backed up at that point.

when I run taskmanager it will not show its running.

If  i let the backup run i will show 2 backups completed.

If i run acronis from the backup disk it will run correctly.

i used chkdsk and i disabled the distrib.link also

this is with winxp sp-3

Was the installation of 2010 over the top of 2009?

What are you imaging to?

Are these full disk images or files and folders backup?

If using a USB drive is the drive connected via an external hub?

Has Windows been in sleep, hibernation or standby mode before TI starts?

2009 uninstalled usb not involved and full backups being made to another harddrive. no sleep or hibernation. i fixed the problem.

i manually uninstalled 2010.i removed the entries in msconfig (in the sevices and startup tab) rebooted and uninstalled all the entries i could find in the registry and on the "C" drive. reinstalled 2010. i could not uninstall from add and remove programs. it works now but it is a little slower than 2009 home. i will do a clean install of my "C" drive and maybe it will speed up. i like 2010 home and it seems to work ok. thanks for the reply

Hello Mike,

Thank you using Acronis Products

Thanks for replying back with resolution of the issue. As Acronis True Image Home 2010 requires a little more computer recourses in comparison with previous version it may result in slow down your PC.

Anyone having trouble removing an Acronis Product (I have tried their own Removal Software) there is a Product called "Revo Unistaller" that will unistall Acronis so you can start over. Here is the URL: http://www.revouninstaller.com/
