Lost 30 GB of free space after a recovery

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I have Acronis 10 and I retored at 160 GB partition that had 30 GB of free space. All files were restored and I can run XP, but now I do not see the 30 GB of free space I had in the 160 GB partition I restored. XP and Partition Magic do not see the 30 GB free space.

Any idea on how to get the 30 GB of free space I had in the 160 GB partition backup? Would it have to do with a restore setting?

Thanks.

Fernando,

Are you using TIH10, TIH2010 or ABR10? They are all different, also which build are you using?

What was the original disk size, what does Windows Disk Management show as the disk structure?

It sounds as though, you have restored the image but didn't select the resize option, so the free space might now be unallocated meaning Windows doesn't have a drive letter for it. Windows Disk Managment will show if this is the case.

Did you have a Secure Zone set up previously?

Colin,
Thanks for your prompt answer. I found the problem. True Image Home version 10 restored the image flawlessly with the 30 gb of free space. The problem was created by Mozy, which inadvertedly restored my data and created a lot of duplicate files, and hence used all the free space.

I am extremely satified with True Image.
