Lost Original Registration Information (Resolved: read on)

Thread needs solution

I just registered for the forums, and was trying to update my retail (box) copy of 'A. True Image 11 Home'. I know I registered it when originally installed, but have lost all information for that registration.

How do I get the registration updated, or transfered to current account? Thank you.

I am quite pleased with this product and plan to upgrade when I transition to post-XP OS. But money is tight since I am unemployed.

Thanks, again for your help.

Acronis should have the information in your old account. Do you remember the email address used for the original account?

Have you tried contacting Acronis Support (via Live Chat, for example) and seeing if they can find it?

MudCrab,
Thank you for your response, But this was my own dumb fault. My apologies. The Registration Window has the link for lost accounts.... It took going through Grover's Index (a long and very useful list!) to discover the solution:

1. Logout of current account; or, do fresh login.

2. Since I didn't know original email or password, I entered TI-11 serial number and got my original email sign-in by response. (This only works if address is still being used.)

3. Once I got the address, I requested a new password. That arrived immediately. *Note:* The ability to page back web windows is a great benefit, too.

4. logged in under original account and downloaded updates, add-ons, and freebies.

I logged out; and came back to my new account. Here I am with the GOOD NEWS!

This customer support is the best I have encountered in probably 20 years of computer use! You have earned my support, with a good imaging product, first, and support for it, second. When my current (other brand) AV subscription comes up for renewal, I will be back.

Thanks to all of you on the forums, and Acronis!

*I will retire my latest account shortly.*

H B McCrory,

I'm glad my index helped. One precaution that can help is to print your serial number (as well as version and build number) onto the each and every emergency CD that you create (or buy). Also, you should retain each Rescue CD that you create for possible future use when restoring or mounting a really old backup.

Your foresight in having the serial number provided the ability to backtrack and get the other info.

If you buy the reduced price upgrade version to the product, the serial number is required anyway as part of the install so its nice to have it handy. Use a Sharpie type pen or a a CD printer.
