Made first Backup? I only see one file created

Thread needs solution

Well, I finally tried to use this utility yesterday and I went through the following steps:
- add new backup
- select source...disks and partitions. What's checked off is the system, local C: and Recovery
- I selected my Seagate external drive as a destination (2tb drive)
- I initiated the Backup

The result is a single file, or is it a folder? that has all those things listed; Local C:, etc.

What I notice is that the size of this folder is less than the size of my Local disk C: which is around 220gb. The newly created backup size is around 141gb. Is this right? How is this achieved, compression?

Thanks

Yes, Acronis True Image (ATI) creates archive filles with the .TIB extension, which is a proprietary container using compression technology. With ATI installed in Windows, you can actually double click on these files. An Acronis shell extension will let you navigate the windows explorer like window that opens. You can also retrieve files or folders from that view.
When you run the backup again, another TIB file will be created. If the task that you are running is incremental, the first TIB file will be a full backup, and the second TIB file will contain only incremental changes. You ened both files to restore the second version.
