Making reserve copy

Thread needs solution

I know I can select the reserve copy during the partition backup process. However, can I just copy the existing tib file to another location instead of checking the reserve copy box. Can I recover from the copied tib file?

Yes. You can use Windows Explorer and make additional copies of your backup file. However, after making the copy, use the TrueImage ( preferably from within the TI Rescue CD) to validate the copy in its new location.

Thanks GroverH,
Before reading your post, I already restored kusing embergency bootable disk. Since I have not idea what Acronis system Report is, I checked on Acronis True Image Home. Restoration was successful. It now seems that Acronis System Report file is not critical for restore. What is/does Acronis System Report? ik

Perhaps this link will help.

Acronis System Report is a program started by the user to gather system information about the computer.

It must be s stared manually by the user when it is needed. It is only used when there is a hardware or software issue and TrueImage does not function as designed. When a problem occurs, Acronis may request to user to generate such a report and that report will provide information about all the hardware, software and drivers being used.

You are correct that the report has no effect on your backups or restores because it is not used by these programs. The report is run at a specific request to gain troubleshooting information to fix a specific problem. Having the report capability on the CD is a convenience because often times, it is the using the CD is when the problem occurs and being able to generate this system report from the CD makes it easier to provide Acronis with information about the CD generated problem.

You can run this program as a test and look at its content so you will know what is inside the report. This report is usually sent direct to Acronis for review when a problem is being investigated by Acronis.
