MBR 3 error on Windows 7

Thread needs solution

I have used a 30 day trial of Acronis True Image 11. I also installed Acronis OS selector.
I deciced not to use it any more. But after the 30 day trial, you can't do anthing anymore.
not even deactive it. It presents you with a list that only shows"boot from floppy A", or "boot from unknown operating system".
My current OS , ie, windows 7, is not mentioned, so i'm left a non-bootable PC.

After using disk director suite, i found the option> recover MBR (or something similar to that).

But now i get the MBR 3 error. I allready booted with the windows 7 recovery DVD>command prompt> bootrec.exe /FixMbr
>bootrec.exe /FixBoot.
The last command did not work. So how do i get rid of that ??

Rob:

bootrec.exe /FixBoot should not be necessary - this command just replaces the boot loader in the target partition's boot record. OS Selector doesn't modify the Partition Boot Record (PBR); just the Master Boot Record (MBR).

You should only need to do bootrec.exe /FixMbr to remove the OS Selector code from the Master Boot Record and replace it with the Windows 7 boot code. That should remove the MBR 3 error that you see on bootup. Didn't this work?
