McAfee Endpoint Encryption and Acronis Home 2012

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I am trying to replace hard-drive in my corporate laptop with SSD one. The laptop is running “McAfee Endpoint Encryption”. The new drive is slightly smaller (240GB versus 300GB), so sector-to-sector copy will not work for me. I was reading Acronis knowledge base (http://kb.acronis.com/content/14666 ), but it left me with 2 questions:
1) Is it safe to install Acronis and perform a full backup when laptop is running “McAfee Endpoint Encryption”? I found some scary article: http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1692275 : “Acronis replaced the MBR to customize the boot process -BUT the encrypted disk was the SOURCE hard disk in a bulk copy, so NO MERCY with Acronis, SOURCE disks should not be touched, especially the MBR, and without user confirmation!”. Can I be sure Acronis does not change MBR when installed?
2) When MBR is repaired after the restore to the new drive, will McAfee automatically repair/reinstall itself so the disk becomes encrypted again?

P.S. I’m using Acronis Home 2012 and running Windows 7 64-bit

Thank you in advance.
