Migrate Windows 7 OS from non-RAID to RAID
I'm new to Acronis with True Image Home 2011
I want to migrate a functioning Windows 7 OS from a non-RAID environment to a RAID 10 configuration without doing a fresh Windows install.
The RAID drivers needed are on a USB thumb drive.
What procedure is recommended to accomplish this goal and please be specific?
Do I need to purchase Plus Pack to accomplish my goal?
My total experience with Acronis:
I've used Acronis's clone capability successfully before to migrate a functioning RAID 10 Win7 system to larger disk drives from smaller drives but that system already had the drivers and the only hardware change was the larger disk drives. Everything else was unchanged.

Thanks...
I tried your first suggestion both with and without RAID enabled... both were a no-go.
But I'm cloning my system drive to an external and then cloning it back.
Is cloning the right way to do it or is another approach better?
I'll look into the other postings as suggested.

I prefer imaging to cloning since you have a backup and the source drive doesn't need to be connected. However, from the standpoint of getting a booting system with RAID it shouldn't matter.
When what you tried didn't work, did you get a 0x7B BSOD or some other error?
If you have enough connectors and drives, you can setup two drives in RAID (0 or 1, doesn't matter) while still booting from the single drive. Install the RAID drivers and make sure you can access the RAID drive. This would let you know for sure the drivers installed. Then reconfigure the system for RAID 10 and restore or clone to it (image the single drive before breaking the system if planning on restoring instead of cloning).

The clone back into the RAIDed system works fine except that the RAID array looks incomplete before starting.
However, upon reboot Win7 crashes with the blue screen of death. Reboot does not help and Windows Repair can't fix it even though it can see the OS.

What do you mean... the RAID array looks incomplete before starting ?
