Migrating to new PC - True Image 2014 Premium

Thread needs solution

Hello All - Hope you can help with the following.

I'm wanting to migrate my current PC system (Windows 8.1) to a new PC but can't seem to find a step by step guide how to do this. Anyone out there know where this information is please?
My second question concerns Mircosoft and whether they will allow the transfer - I seem to remember that they used to be a bit awkward with people using and existing operating system on a new PC motherboard.
Thanks
Graham

Windows will certainly need to be reactivated. If you have an OEM computer, that will probably not work. If you built your own PC and have a genuine Microsoft Windows, you will be all set.

You need to do a full disk backup of your existing computer. You will need the Premium version of TI so you can use the Universal Restore feature during the restore to the new PC. You should determine the SATA controller driver for the new PC. The driver needs to be in .inf, .cat, .sys format. During the restore, on the Universal Restore screen, point to the SATA controller driver. You will point to the .inf file. That will be all you need. Windows 8.1 will take care of all the other hardware when it boots. After a few reboots, when Windows has stopped discovering new hardware, look at Device Manager and add any necessary drivers at that point.
