Migration HDD => SSD WIN XP 32

Hi All,
I'd like to get your opinion and advice regarding my concern.

The company I'm working for, provides me with a laptop (Thinkpad Lenovo 410) equipped with Win XP SP3 and 250GB SATA HDD .
I use ATI for "standard" disk backup.
I would want to replace the HDD by a SSD, using ATI for migration.
Unfortunately, I can migrate only using "cloning" function, since I don't have all the installable SW (just SW installed on the HDD)
Before to buy a (expensive) 128GB SSD, I would want to know if ATI would make possible:
1. to migrate from HDD to SSD,
2. proceed to alignment of volume/partition
