Missed Backup Causes "Operations are in Progress" Message

Thread needs solution

I have recently upgraded my True Image 2013 to 2014 but have encountered a new problem. If a backup is missed (e.g. due to the external hard drive not being connected, etc.) a “cancel operation” icon (a monitor with a red X) appears in the system tray and it prevents any other backup process to be performed until I restart Windows. In addition, when I want to restart Windows I get the following message “Operations are in progress. Your computer will shut down after the operations are complete.”, which would not go away. This is due to the “cancel operation icon” I mentioned earlier and the only way to get rid of this is by holding the power button to shut down my computer! I did NOT have this problem in True Image 2013, i.e. a canceled operation would not prevent anything, and the next scheduled backup would take place without a problem.

I researched this issue online and realized it has been an ongoing problem. Has any solution been provided for this? I noticed the only differences between the 2013 and 2014 versions are just a few new cloud storage capabilities. So unless there’s a solution to the problem I described, I assume switching back to True Image 2013 would not make any difference in terms of local backup and restore? Thanks.
