Missed backups fail to run at startup

Thread needs solution

Re. True Image Home 2010

I have a client who uses this version with a NAS drive and has configured the backup schedule for 7pm every Sunday. If the computer is on and the NAS connected then the backup completes without issue. However, he is sometimes away at the scheduled backup time when the NAS is disconnected and locked in a safe for security. He has configured the backup settings ' If Missed: "Run at startup"', but this does not seem to work. At startup following a missed backup there is no guarantee that the NAS will be connected at that time and a check of the destination shows that there never a successful backup made other than at the scheduled time.

The NAS has been mapped to a drive letter which is the same each time it is connected and he doesn't have any other external devices which require the allocation of a drive letter, so I'm confident that this isn't related to any confusion regarding drive letters.

Is there any way to set up the system to instigate a backup when the NAS is reconnected after a scheduled backup is missed? Is there any way to configure the backup to check if the NAS is connected before it attempts a backup?

What we are trying to achieve is to automate the process and avoid having to manually instigate a backup.

Thanks

The backup will still fail is the computer restarts and the NAS is not available. It should work if the NAS is started before the computer starts, although it is possible that the timing of the mapped drive reconnecting and ATI checking doesn't work out.
When users have a USB drive, they can use DriveNotify http://www.themudcrab.com/drivenotify.php
Maybe this can work with a mapped drive, I don't know.
