Missing drivers for universal boot?

Thread needs solution

I am trying to do a universal boot on a Dell laptop. I have done a complete backup from my original computer onto an external hard drive. Created a universal boot disk with no drivers. Downloaded the complete set of drivers from the Dell website as .exe files. Used Universal Extractor extract all the files from each driver all into a the same folder and saved it onto the external hard drive. Booted the target computer from the universal boot disk. Entered the folder containing all the extracted files on the external hard drive in the add folder option and the address is then shown in the add folders screen. When I press OK I get a screen which says loading but there is no information in it. The computer then reboots and I get a "disk read error press cnt-alt-del" message. I know there is not a problem with the disk because I can see all the folders on the C: drive in the add folders option screen. Am I doing something wrong or am I missing at least one driver, if so how do I know what it is and how do I find it?
