Missing hard drive when doing a recovery

Thread needs solution

I have two ssd's in my laptop. One is my main hard drive and the second is a raid drive that has my acronis backup. when i try to do a recovery with f11 the only drive i see is the second drive that has the backup file. Is there a reason my main drive isn't present?

When you say it is a raid drive, do you mean a hybrid disk, or a dynamic disk? A raid setup typically comprises several physical disks, although it is possible to have only disk on a RAID controller or controller setting.

Are you sure the the recovery software sees the RAID and not the other drive? Check the size and brand...

Create a recovery CD or USB Flash Drive using Acronis True Image, and try to boot the computer on it. You need this anyway to have the peace of mind that you can restore your computer if your system SSD just dies completely.
Does the recovery medium see both disks?

It should. If it doesn't, there is a problem with the Linux OS of the medium and the disk controllers of your laptop.
