More than one image backup system?
As far as I can remember, I have read some posts telling that more than one backup system might cause problems. I understand that competitive security/anti-virus programs is not a good idea, because they may be triggered by the same event.
But backup systems? WHY may it be unfortunate to have more than one backup system installed on a single computer? Due to my problems with ATIH2012, I have tried EaseUS and Paragon simultaneously. Is this (a partially) reason for my troubles! May be ATIH was insulted by my flirt with other girls?

Thanks, Scott, for your medical story. However, I look at the surgeons to be different teams at the hospital. The team at duty has the response for the operation; the other teams with their spare time do not interfere with the working team. (Unlike AV progs.)
With “deep into the OS” you do not mean the Windows Integration where you can select some components to integrate into Windows? This integration is not decisive to ATHI's function? (KB 23978 & 26912).

The surgeons reference was just a metaphor; it wasn't meant to describe real-world medical protocols; the absurdity of doing it as I descrdibed was the point of the metaphor -- have two imaging programs installed and one tends to get in the way of the the other; usually there is a conflict with the drivers used to monitor the hdisks.
If the backup progs you were talking about were just data backup progs, there wouldn't liekly be any issue. It's backup/imaging progs where the issue arises.

Of course, I did understand the metaphor; I liked it! I am a bit stubborn, I want to understand how “one tends to get in the way of the the other”. I would never perform a manual or scheduled start of two systems simultaneously, but your answer seems to indicate that two running services may cause a conflict. (And Acronis has several services started automatically.)
My question is not only an academic issue; these days several users tries other imaging systems with Acronis is still installed (partially or completely). I did it this way; I had weird experiences different from day to day.
Well, I shall google a bit more. Thanks for your time, Scott.

For the actual "mechanincs" you'd probably need to speak with the software engineers. But if you can find someone on the outside, be sure to share.
Thanks,
good luck
