"Mount Image"has disappeared

Thread needs solution

... from the context menu.

Because of a problem Acronis asked me to to do a re-installation which I did. Everything seems to work,  but "mount image" is now missing in the explorer context menu (Win 10). How can I get it back? I've been using it frequently.

Harry, you could try using the free Nirsoft Shell Extension Viewer utility to see whether you have the correct extension enabled to allow the 'mount image' option to be given.  When used on my Windows 10 system with ATIH 2016, I see the extensions as shown in the attached PDF.

Thank you Steve. I see only the first entry which looks the same as yours. The other three are missing. So what can I do?

Harry

Harry, if you have the first entry, then does it show as Disabled = Yes or No in the second column of the report?

I have ATIH 2015 on one of my systems but that is running Windows 7 (not 10).  The new shell extensions report is from that system (the earlier one was from ATIH 2016) just in case there are other differences in the entries.

Note: I sorted the Shell Extension viewer page by clicking on the Product column heading to group all the Acronis entries together.

Harry, the only file that is mentioned is C:\Program Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\tishell.dll
Note: If you are on a 64-bit system, then it may be C:\Program Files (x86)\....

Check that the tishell.dll file exists on your system to start with.

If the file is present, then it may need to be reregistered to the system.  To do this do the following:

Click on Start, then type CMD at the search prompt.

From the list of results shown, right-click on cmd.exe and select to 'Run as administrator'

In the new Command window, type regsvr32 'C:\Program Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\tishell.dll'
Note: change the file path to that used on your system, use quotes to enclose paths with spaces embedded.

If the tishell.dll file is missing, then you will need to reinstall ATIH 2015 but as this issue arose from doing this previously, I would recommend running the Acronis Cleanup Tool (link in my signature below) and then doing a clean install of ATIH 2015.  Note: In doing this your backup tasks and task history will be removed and need to be reconfigured again.

Steve, Thank you!

I followed your recommendations and to use the Cleanup Tool. After re-installation eeverything is fine now.

Cheers,

Harry

Harry, I am glad to hear that the issue has been solved, and hope it remains that way for you!  Steve

Harry, Steve, I am happy to see that you have fixed the issue and "Mount" option in context menu is back.

Harry, talking about the root cause of the problem, it is currently difficult to say what went wrong during re-installation, but if this issue will reproduce (I hope it will not), you can use "Send Feedback" feature from "Help" tab of Acronis True Image 2016 software to help us in finding and fixing the root cause of the problem. This will send a system report with diagnostic information to us. Then you can apply solutions/workarounds to address the issue.

Regards,

Slava
