Move Acronis True Image Home 11.0 To Another Computer?

Thread needs solution

We are getting a new laptop for my wife which will arrive in a couple of days and she has True Image Home on her laptop running under XP Pro.  I want to move it to her new PC.  How do I do this?

I presume I uninstall Acronis on the old laptop first and then install it on her new laptop?  Do I have to notify Acronis of this beforehand?

Will we be able to use the backup files created on her old laptop to restore files in the new laptop?  The new laptop will be running Vista Home Premium, 64 bit.

Thanks for your advice on this matter.

Hello Johnny,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

According to Acronis software licensing policy, you should purchase one copy of Acronis program per each machine it will be used with. You can uninstall license on old laptop and install it on a new one. You won’t be able to use backup archives on new laptop because of difference in hardware between two laptops. I will have to create new.

I may also recommend you to have a look at our new version which has just been released – Acronis True Image Home 2010. You can download free trial version from our web site and test it.
