Moving ASZ to a new drive

Thread needs solution

Folks

Has anyone ever tried moving an existing ASZ to another drive. I've recently added a new drive to my system with ATI Home 2011. I'd like to move my existing ASZ to that drive. I've scanned the manuals and the forums, but the closest I've found is the cloning process, but I can't see how to 'disconnect' from my current ASZ and reconnect to my newly cloned one.

Anyone ever tackle something like this before? Can you share how you went about it?

Joe,

There is no built in way to move the ASZ. Don't use the clone approach.

If you are OK losing the current backups, just delete your backup tasks, then delete your current ASZ, create a new one and restart new tasks.
If you are not OK losking the current backups, use the move backup command to move them to a temporary holding folder (not ASZ). Once moved validate them with ATI. Then delete the ASZ, create a new on and restart new tasks.

If you can, do not use the ASZ. You just experienced the lack of flexibility. If you like the added security, then fine. Remember that when you change the versions of ATI, it is better to delete the ASZ, then uninstall, then recreate everything.
