Moving from full backups to incramentals
I'm moving to the Surface pro 128. At the moment I'm creating a full backup with a rotation of 7 days. It's presently taking 165GB of storage (about 27GB per day x 7) for a full seven days of full backups.
With the Surface Pro I'll only have a SanDisk Ultra 64 GB MicroSDXC Class 10 UHS-1 Memory Card to store my backups.
I've never attempted incremental backups before.
Are they as reliable as full backups. Not a whole lot changes on my system from day to day. I have been using Acronis for the last couple of years and every time I need to restore I have been successful using the full backup method.
Is there a guide on how to setup incremental on a rotation of seven days?
TIA...

I think this is a problem with limited space, and I should probably wait until I can pickup a 128 GB MicroSDXC card.
I'll use the network backup until then.
Thanks...

Yes, having a larger storage capacity would be helpful. I would encourage you to also keep current your alternate backups.
Very recently, one user posted where a virus make his computer not usable but also did he same for all his backups which were located on another internal disk. All his backups were ruined. You never know. It is wise to have other backups than those attached to your computer.

It gets to a point of being paranoid about backups. I already mirror. In all reality, it takes me about a day to restore back from a fresh install.
Switching to the Surface Pro is making be evaluate the whole data storage nightmare of keeping my personal data safe. I want to utilize the cloud (skydrive) in some way. I've always kept my personal data on the local system, and created images for my backup.
I do believe the cloud is going to be relevant more and more in the future, so it's just how to protect my personal data from corruption, and making it available when not connected.

Yes, Everything has to be within reason. I have not used the Cloud. I am not sure I want someone to have that access. Even with encryption and I have nothing to hide, they have access to whatever we put in the cloud and so far, I am not willing to put my data there. I may be one that is paranoid.
