Multiple Backups. Why?

Thread needs solution

I have defined a Backup settings for the F:\John docs from Titan that works OK. But after that, two more similar settings have appeared in the My backups list.

I cannot delete, remove or edit these. If I try to delete settings only, I get the attached error message.

Also they start at the same time as they are copies of the original.

Please see attached images.

Any help appreciated,

Ioannis

Ioannis, the backup tasks with a numbered prefix such as (1) or (2) are ones that have been created using the Clone settings option, though why you have the two tasks with the same name John is more of a mystery?

Perhaps more relevant to the fact that you cannot delete, remove or edit these tasks is the further message about there being a Database error.

I would recommend forcing a rebuild of the Acronis Database by doing the following steps:

  1. Stop all Acronis Services and Processes - these must be stopped in this order - the Services first then the Processes / Programs as otherwise the services will cause the programs to be restarted!
  2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\ and rename or delete the Database folder found there.  This can only be done when no Acronis services or programs are active.
  3. Still in Explorer, open the Scripts folder where you will find a number of .TIS files that contain XML data for your backup tasks - open these in Notepad and look near the top of the file for <display>(1)John</display> and the other duplicate task names.  You can delete each of the duplicate task files (.TIS) to remove these.
  4. Launch ATIH 2015 which will restart the required Services and Processes plus will build a new Database folder / files.
  5. Finally, run your remaining backup tasks to reestablish these in the Database and cause the backup history to be restarted.
