Thread needs solution

As Acronis povides no means to delete your backups from within the program, you only delete opiton is to delete them manually via Windows Explorer. Once you begin deleting, any backup task involved will cease to be usable as it has lost its contents.

1. If all the backups are full type backup, each is a standalone and any can be deleted followed by a validation.
2. If the backups are full type plus incrementals, then only ALL the incrementals can be deleted and keeping the full, or also deleting the full as well.
Each incremental has data not contained in any other backup but a later full. So your choice is to delete all incrementals and keep the full or also delete the full.
3. If the backups are full type plus differentials, you can delete the oldest differentials and keep the full, or also delete the full.
4. Upon completion of the deletion, you will need to run manual validation on each task and respond "IGNORE" to any message prompt regarding the now missing deleted files.
5. Start over with new backup tasks using one the cleanup methods suggested in examples GH11, GH12, GH13.
These examples set up the backup scheme for automatic deletion of the oldest chains and the deletion is done by the program automatically when your retention quota (of how many chains to keep before auto deletion begins) is excedded. Other pertinent references is included to assist.

Depending upon the type of backup scheme you wish to create, here is an example of each type. These can be set up for Disk image, or Partiton, or Files-folders backups. These example show how to set up automatic cleanup so the program will do the deletion after it reaches your set goal of how many chains to retain.

Editing an existing task is not recommended. Rarely does an edited task perform to user expectations. It is usually better to start with a new task using a new non-identical task name and point to a new storage sub-folder so each task has it own storage folder/sub-folder. Old task can be stopped or deleted from the task listings.
