A 'My backup' for a new hard drive immediately re-starts a new 'My backup' after completion

Thread needs solution

Build 6613

Hi ..

The Subject line sums it up.

Background:

Installed a new SSD 250Gb drive for my C Drive.

Upgraded my data drive,  'F', to a 1Tb HDD.

Upgraded my Acronis backup drive, 'T', to a 2Tb HDD.

1) Re-created SSD C drive specific only backup, saving .tib Daily files to the backup drive, T.  Seems to be working once daily, around a 40-45Gb .tib file.

2) Re-created the data drive specific only backup, F, Daily backup, around a 300Gb .tib file AND that is the problem. It goes through all the motions correctly, finishes the Validation portion and then immediately starts creating a new backup.

Over several days, I have checked re-checked, deleted, restarted the computer multiple times, deleted the My backup I created, re-checked, etc. to no avail.

I cannot find any answers in Knowledgebase searches (probably not using the right tech keywords?).

I do delete all but a handful of Exclusions, but this was not a problem with previous hard drives and backups.

I am at loss. I am a pretty good power user, but...

Ideas? Suggestions?

Let me know.

Thanks.

John

My suggestion would be start with a fresh installation.

Download the cleanup and run it as the un-install and cleanup.

Then create new tasks wih new task names and a new storage folder or sub-folder..

Post back your results after you have run new backups from your clean re-installation.

GH,

Thanks for the Cleanup link. I was heading to an uninstall/reinstall, but now can proceed with more confidence.

Will update as requested after a couple days of experience.

Thanks.

John

These two liinks could also help in creating all new tasks.

GH,

DONE/closed.  4 days of testing has verified that the uninstall using the Cleanup, reinstall and creation of new tasks is working correctly and verified.

Thank you again for your ideas, patience and help.

All the best.
