My helpful hints for NAS drive
History
I am using Win7 Home Premium and I have an Excel file on a NAS drive. I had 3 computers (Win7 and 2 WinXP) working in ATI2009 with this NAS drive fine. My wife bought a new computer and we needed ATI2014 for her hard drive (GPT).
ATI2014 build #6673 has been pretty good except when accessing the NAS drive
problems.
1. my NAS software is Buffalo NAS Navigator2. When I installed ATI2014 it seemed to wipe out a file needed by NAS Navigator. On Bootup, NAS Navigator2 would no longer find my NAS Drive. I found re-intalling my NAS Navigator software solved this
2. my file backup schema pointed to an Excel file on the NAS drive. I had Daily, Weekly, Monthly schema. The Daily would run then the Weekly & Monthly would quit because of an error "Multiple connections to a server or shared resource, using more than one user name" It tried to set in Backup Options > Advanced > Windows Account the box to have no tick (i.e. use same user account name) but SAVE would never work. It turns out that having a Pre-Processing command prevented SAVE from working here. I removed the Pre-Processing command and made sure all Backup Options > Advanced > Windows Account boxs were set to no tick. See attachment for error message
3. When running a backup a box appears to "shutdown when complete" this doesn't work. known issue.
4. when trying to recover an Incremental portion of a file using Online Recovery get a message asking to point to Volume 1. I don't know what this means but if I point to where my backups are, this seems to work. Same problem using Mount an Image. Use the CD for recovery always works.
I was ready to kick ATI2014 to the gutter (re-install ATI2009) but I found these solutions and so I am going to stick with ATI2014. When I final build comes out, I will see if the above has been fixed
