Is my install of Acronis good

Thread needs solution

I just reinstalled Acronis after doing a Dell Factory Image Restore. It appears to work but in the Add-Remove section the icon shows up as just a white box. Is that OK or should it show the Acronis icon, as it does on my desktop?

Is this question just too stupid to comment on or something? I had this happen once before on a program and the installation was corrupt. Because of that I uninstalled Acronis and reinstalled but the icon is still just a white box.

You should have
1. An Acronis icon on your desktop.
2. Inside the Start Menu, you should have an Acronis folder with several items listed.
3. You may have an Acronis icon in your Quick Launch Tray.
4. Acronis True Image should be listed in you Add/Remove Programs folder. If it is not,
I would repeat the install (or choose install/modify) overtop the recent install.

It is always a good practice to disable your Anti-virus and anti-malware programs before installing any new software.

I have all of these things. What concerns me is that the Acronis icon as it appears in the Add/Remove is not the real Acronis icon. It is just a white box. I was wanting to know if that indicated that the installation was somehow corrupt. I've already un- and reinstalled it once because of this, but don't recall if I had security programs turned off so I guess maybe I'll try that once more and see what happens.

Don't be too concerned about the lack of proper icon. If Acronis is listed in the Add/remove and it gives you an option to uninstall, that is all that is important here.

If you run the downloaded install program again, it gives you a repair or modify option. You can run either. There is no need to un-install.
