Name of Backup-File

Thread needs solution

Since a few weeks on all the names of my backup files the signs "(1)" are added. It then looks like:

E_Daten_2012-06-06(1).tib

What seetings must be changed to avoid the "(1)" at the end of the file name?

Thank you for your assistance!

Greetings WaDa,
The (1) you are referring to has to do with the back up set number. If you told Acronis to perform 4 incremental back ups and to retain two complete sets before consolidation you would see sometuhing like this:

E_Daten_2012-06-06(1).tib
E_Daten_2012-06-06(1)1.tib
E_Daten_2012-06-06(1)2.tib
E_Daten_2012-06-06(1)3.tib

E_Daten_2012-06-06(2).tib
E_Daten_2012-06-06(2)1.tib
E_Daten_2012-06-06(2)2.tib
E_Daten_2012-06-06(2)3.tib

Once the third set (3) is created, set (1) would be deleted and so on...

Wada,

If you use a tag/stamp to build your backup name (eg @date@), there are cases where ATI loses track of these things and consider them as a fixed string.
To solve this problem, create a new task. It is recommended to add a character after the tag "_" to help avoid issues.

I stopped using the tags because of this kind of problem.

If you have inserted the date as a fixed string, then shadowsport's post explains how ATI will be naming the files by default.
