Need advice on migrating system drive to partition
Hello there,
I have a tricky problem and hope to find some help here:
I have a small harddisk with my old XP system on it (no partitions).
Now I got a new very big harddisk with 3 partitions, one for my data files, one for my new system Windows 7, and one is reserved for my old XP (so I can choose where to boot from). Win 7 is my main operating system now, where I'm running Acronis.
I would like to use Acronis to migrate the contents of the old harddisk to the new partition, so I can get rid of the old small harddisk (the new partition is bigger). When I tried to use the "clone" feature I got the warning that all partitions on the target drive would be deleted. I certainly don't want that!
I only want to put it into the partition.
What's the best way to do that? It should remain booteable though.
Thanks in advance :)

Oh I see!
The dual boot thing is already enabled, there's just nothing to boot from yet.
So I'll backup an image first and then restore it, is that right?
Thank you very much :)
