Need a few pointers

Thread needs solution

Let me start out by saying I've never done this. I've searched the forums and I'm confused. I know...not good. I have a OCZ Vertex 2 as a boot drive (30 gig). I was getting low on space (1 gig left), so I bought a Crucial 64 gig ssd (was a good deal at NEWEGG). What is the best way to make the new drive my boot drive? Cloning it or letting Windows 7 (64bit) initialize it, and doing a system restore. And do I need to buy the plus package to do this?.... any help would be appreciated.

John,

The best way is to backup your current disk with a disk and partition backup that contains ALL the partititions, and to restore this backup on your new disk after you have swapped it.
When you restore, restore each partition in the same order it was on your previous disk. Do not change the size of any hidden partition, resize the user partition(s) (eg C:\) to take advantage of your additional space.
When you restore the first partition, make sure to have a 1MB offset before it. Each partition should start with an offset that is divisible by 4096 when expressed in bytes.
Check out Grovers' true image guides to restore to a bigger disk.
