Need help for data recovery!
(i´m german, my english is bad, so sorry)
hi,
i´m using Acronis True Image 10 Home and i did a backup of all my datas stored on several harddisk in one file (.tib). but now this harddisk -where the .tib-file was- crashed. i used a special recovery tools to recover my datas. it was successful, the program found all files i needed.the recovery tool did not find the .tib-file, but all files i stored IN the .tib-file (TI-archive). but after recovering they dont work (e.g. a MP3-file, i can´t play it, file size -n.o. bytes-are correct).
i think the reason that i cant use the files is, that True Image compressed the datas (i selected a Normal Compress Rate). now i need a way to de-compress the files like True Image should do if i would restore an True Image or if i would browse an image (a .tib-file) with TrueImage 10.
i hope i could explain my problem so that anyone of you can help me! it´s important!!
Hans

hi,
thanx for the fast answer! :)
i used File Scavenger 3.0. i used the drive quite often to backup my files. in the past i copied all the files without using True Image, i did i manually. so it´s really possible that the files found by File Scavenger are only traces of the old files. but the file sizes are ok, the number of bytes are fitting with the original stored ones.
i´m still sure, that the files Scavenger found are from the tib-archive. you think it´s not possible??

Hi
Your English is better than my German :-)
The recovery software looks impressive but I would be very surprised if it could pull files from a compressed Tib file with out it knowing the compression scheme particilarly if the file is damaged.
Sorry I can't help any more
