Need help. True Image 2013 email configuration with gmail

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I need help to setup email notification on True Image 2013 using gmail

I just signup for new gmail account and enable both IMAP and POP mail but still failed to sending the test mail. Here is how it setup

- Server setting: smtp.gmail.com

- Port: 465 (SSL) and 587 (TLS)

- User/Pass: my full email address and password

Got this error message when sending a test mail "Failed to send the test e-mail. Check the specified e-mail setting"

When click on more detail I got "An unknown error has occured" with this "More information about this error and solutions may be available online in the Acronis Knowledge Base.
To access the online resource manually, enter the event code at: http://kb.acronis.com/errorcode/
Event code: 0x0064022B+0x0000FFF0+0x8007001B"

The same event code for both port 465 and 587

I tested port 25, 465, 587 and they are all open.

Please help.

Thank you

Hello, you may have hit a feature of Gmail which now tries to provide greater security by blocking access for less secure applications!

See http://www.ghacks.net/2014/07/21/gmail-starts-block-less-secure-apps-enable-access/  - try enabling this feature, i.e. Enable access for less secure apps and see if that allows gmail to work for you.

Thank you for your help Steve,

The Google account was set to disable less secure app. I turned it on, sign out and in again to make sure it still on.

But still got the same error :(

OK, I have just tried this by creating a brand new Gmail account (my working account is many years old & worked first time when I started using it to send email notifications!).

I created a new task and setup notifications using the new gmail account, smtp.gmail.com & port 465 SSL plus my new account email address and password.  When I tried to send a test email I got the same authentication error as you.

Next I changed the settings to allow enable less secure app but still got the same.

Next, I looked at Google Help and found a link to https://accounts.google.com/DisplayUnlockCaptcha which I followed the instructions as shown in the screen shot attached.  With this Google page open, I went back to ATIH (2016) and tried the test email again and this time it worked!

I checked my email and the test message arrived fine but when I checked the new gmail account inbox, I found a message as shown attached.  Finally, after the task ran I also found a notification that it was successful.
