Need to "move" license
Hi,
I had a motherboard go bad so I had to replace it. Now Trueimage is telling me I have to "move" the license (too many activations). I go to their website and of course the instructions for moving a license have hardly any relation to the software I'm using. My support has expired so I'm hoping someone out there can help me figure out how to get this software that I paid for working.
Thanks for your help,
Mark

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, but unfortunatly as I mentioned, the instructions there don't work. When I get to the activation page I get the following message:
Sorry, your request cannot be processed
Error. The administrator has been notified. Please try again later.
Then that's it.
I don't know how to find my "installation code" or I would try to enter it manually.

I have reported this problem to Acronis. It is being investigated by them. Below you will find a workaround I reported to Acronis that I have used sucessfully to re-activate a license on my system:
"There is a soution to be able to de-activate and re-activate on the same computer when this happens. If you have received the "too many activations" and are connected to the internet and the website returns "error" when you try to de-activate, you can leave 2013 open and disconnect from the internet and then select "activate" from the "help" button. After 2013 tries to activate and can no longer find the internet connection, you will be prompted to choose from: Try again, Retry automatically later, and Activate from another computer. If you select "Activate from another computer, this will generate the "installation code" for your system. Then save the file, but leave the "activate from another computer" window open. Re-connect to the internet, open a browser, and go to www.acronis.com/activation and follow the proceedure to input the installation code using copy and paste or "load from a file" and press "Get Activation code. You are then presented with the "You have reached your activation limit" page where you can select "Move license from another computer" and click "continue". On the next screen, you have to sign into your Acronis account and click the "agree" box and then click "continue. You are then taken to a page where you will see the license (computer) to deactivate and a check box to "agree" to deactivate the product from the selected computer. After selecting the computer to de-activate and clicking the "agree" box, click on "Move License". You are then take to a page that shows the "activation" code and you can save it to a file. (You can also copy ( and paste, later) the "activation code"). At this point you would close the browser and then either paste or "load from file" the activation code and click "activate". "

Glad it worked for you.
You are not charged for activation issues by Acronis, and there is no time limit for this issue.
You would need to contact customer service here: www.acronis.com/support/contact-us.html.
In step 1 on the left hand side pulldown, select "customer care", and on the right hand side select "product activation issues" from the pulldown.
You then would be able to use email or chat, your choice, to get help with the activation issue.

Actually there is a time limit as such. You can not create a trouble ticket for a version that is older than the last version. It is now 2015 and I'm using 2012 so I can not get to tech support on my activation issue. I have found some possible solutions, but am posting this to clarify that you cannot get tech support on version 2013 and older right now. With Windows 10 coming out in a couple of weeks, I anticipate a new TIH will be issued and that means 2014 and older will no longer have ANY support from Acronis.

Thanks James,
I was able to find the short between the chair and the keyboard and fixed the issues with your suggestions.

I need to deactive an acronis True Image 2016 License. I activated it, and tried to "save" my data off a failing drive. Before that happened the drive went bad. I would like to be able to reuse the copy I paid for on my "new" machine.
Can I do that?
