Need to Replace Hard-Drive:

I need to replace my computer's hard-drive and will have backed up my computer using Acronis 2015, before the new hard-drive is installed. Should I tell the computer shop to just install the new hard-drive and leave it "blank" and than restore my computer using the Acronis backup? Also, should I put something on a thumb drive in order to get the restoration process up-and-running? Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.
