Need very simple help

Thread needs solution

Windows7... I want to prepare for a boot drive crash... C:
I want a complete image of C: saved to D: and a boot CD so I can access it.
TI-13 is installed and I see 2 types of backup, Disk and Partition.
Which is a complete image? Disk, Partition, or both?
I assume after backing one or both of these using "Create bootable media" on a CD will give me post crash access to the image? on D: for complete recovery?

Thanks for any clarity.

Create a full disk backup, selecting the checkbox for the entire disk (not just individual partitions). That ensures that you have everything you need, and you won't need to understand how the disk is laid out with possible hidden partitions. A full disk backup captures everything, and is the simplest, safest backup method.

Use "Create bootable media" command to create the Acronis True Image bootable Rescue Media, either to CD-R or USB flash drive. You would boot from that to perform recoveries.

Check out the many user guides and tutorials in the left margin of this forum, particularly Getting Started and Grover's True Image Guides which are illustrated with step-by-step screenshots.

My recommendations:
1. A disk image backup and this will include all partitions or everything. This link shows what to select. If you want more help with backups or backup tasks/schemes, checkout the other links inside that same link. All backups are initiated from within a backup task.

2. You can also perform the same type backup when booted from the TrueImage Bootable Media CD (or Flash Drive).
3. One of your first priorities is to create the bootable media either to CD or Flash Drive.
4. Be sure you have registered your 2013 serial number with Acronis.

5. For restoring or recovery backup, for more information, click on signature link #3.
