New Computer with Win-7/64: Can I use TI 2009 Home BLD-9709?
My current Win XP pro, sp3 desktop computer may soon be replaced with a new desktop that will have Windows 7 / 64 on it.
I realize that I can't restore a XP image to W7/64 however I do wonder if my TI Home 2009 Bld 9079 will load on W7/64 and will the basic tools work? By basic I mean manual backup images, drive mounting/file copying, and manual image restores.
My images are stored in an external USB hard drive.
MS has a web site that tells me what old software will work with Win-7/64. TI is listed as "unknown".

PS: I've been playing with a disk/partition imaging software that has zero extra features (unlike TI) however it does work, can be booted and run from a Bart CD, and is free. I'll post about it soon.

I think the reason is that there are not many people using x64. And those that are, are using at least the 2010 version .... maybe?

Thanks, I'm thinking that you are right about this. Somehow I'm not looking forward to this change. When it happens I'll post the results.

Yes, TI 2009 installs and runs fine on Windows 7 64-bit.
I'm running TI 2009 build 9796 on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I ran build 9709 on the RC of Windows 7 during beta.

I'm trying to install TI2009 on a Win7x64 home premium machine. This is a new HP quad desktop. This after trying TI2011 which didn't work at all. When I start TI2009 it keeps on using more and more memory til it gets to 2GB and then Acronis closes. You've said that you've used TI2009 successfully on Win7 machines. Any clues why I can't? I've run it in Vista and WinXP compatiblity modes with the same result.
