Thread needs solution

Hi,

I installed Windows7 on a new hard drive and made a couple backups to another external, one with the updated OS and another with my main programs installed. At the time I kept my old hard drive intact and later used it to recover some files I forgot to back up. Since everything appears to be running fine I reformatted the drive and plan on using it as my main backup hard drive.

I moved the two backups I made earlier to the formatted drive and have validated them but have a couple questions. Apparently when I made the first backup no other external drives were attached and it's labeled G:\My backups\New Install. However, the 2nd backup I made is labeled I:\My backups\New Programs, and the third I:\My backups\Full Backup. That's how they're labeled now yet all on the I: drive. I've tried to rename G:\My backups\New Install to I:\My backups\New Install with no luck. It doesn't appear so, but is it necessary to rename, and how do I do it? The icon next to the name and location also shows a disk icon, rather than what looks like a enclosure, what's the significance in that?

Also, I plan on backing up my documents, photos and music more often to the drive I moved the first two backups from, so when I made the I:\My backups\Full Backup I excluded my User folder, and the Public folder. Am I going to run into problems if I need to restore a "Full BackUp"?

Do I need to worry about the %appdata% folder not being in the Full BackUp? I'll probably only run Full BackUps from time to time and schedule user and public document folders daily. Are there better schemes?

OK, I was able to figure out how to move or label the backup.

I'm still most interested in what's going to happen if I do a restore of the "Full BackUp" with an appsdata folder, and/or if I can add it it to the tib now, and select it for any future backups?

Guess I'll experiment while I have the chance
