No backup of master drive possible

Thread needs solution

I use: Acronis True Image Home 10 Build 7.046
on: W7 Prof. x64

Problem:

If I try to backup the master drive where I placed the applications only including Windows 7 and all other system relevant folders, Acronis crashed. I can open the application but once I selected the master drive for backup procedure the software freezes for a couple of seconds after I pressed proceed. Then the message appears the the software does not function anymore correctly and must be closed. Backup of the slave drive where I store all the data is no problem, that works fine! When a fix is available I will be notified. After I press okay the software closes. OneClick Backup of Acronis does not work at all - the warning message appears immediately after I double clicked on the icon. The application never worked.

What have I done so far?

I uninstalled the package and re-installed it, but no success.

Who can help me to get the application up and running?

Hello Harald,

Let me assist you.

It seems that some application or running process blocked Acronis True Image from working correctly. In order to investigate the issue and to provide with a solution we need some additional information.

Could you please do the following?

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

MIght I suggest using msconfig.exe to disable all non-micorsoft services and all startup prgrograms before uninstalling and reinstalling. This will help in some cases where you get runtime errors. Not a silver bullet but worth a try since it doesn't take much time to try.

info on msconfig can be found here:

It looks like I was able to fix the issue myself - from what I can say now it must have been an issue with the target drive. I used an SSD as target drive before but now swapped it into a normal 7200RPM SATA-HD. Since I did this Acronis runs as perfectly as one could expect this!

Thx
