No boot drive found after windows restart.

Thread needs solution

Hello: I just installed a Crucial SSD drive and was following the steps to mirror the HD using Acronis. After I clicked proceed, a box popped up and requested that I restart the computer. I did this and now windows will not load with an error of "no boot drive located" disk may be bad. This is a brand new HP computer and I am unable to use it now. Any ideas?

Thanks

Darn. A typical problem with UEFI machines.

Never do a clone operation or a restore operation, except from the Acronis recovery CD. Do not attempt to do these operations starting from the app running in Windows.

Your only option is to put the original disk at its original spot (if you removed it) and try to repair the startup of the computer with a Windows installation DVD or repair disk.
