No Disc found

Thread needs solution

Installed Win XP on formated drive partition. Started Backup - Computer from Rescue Disk created w/previous installation of XP. Backup started but I had to cancel due to time constraint - it was going to take about an hour and a half and I couldn't wait. Attempted to backup the next day (with Rescue Disc). Received msg. that backup already existed, did I want to overwrite. Selected Yes. Backup started, however, it only backed up that small part of the partition that had already been backed up the previous day. I deleted the .tib file and attempted to backup again. This time I received the "no disk found" message. Note: I am using a new motherboard; other than Norton AV there are no other programs installed on the partition I'm attempting to backup. However, since I'm using a Rescue Disk, Norton never gets initiated.

Hello Mustang,

Let me assist you.

It seems that there's something wrong with the hardware detection in the standard bootable CD. In such case I may recommend you to use a special version of Acronis Bootable Media that is based on the latest Linux kernel and includes different hardware drivers.

  1. Log in to your account (if you do not have one, you will need to create it);
  2. Once logged in, click My Products & Downloads:

  3. Scroll down to the registered product and click Bootable Media:

  4. Click Download:

  5. Acronis Bootable Media will be downloaded as an ISO file. See Burning an ISO Image.

Please reply to this thread if the issue still persists.

Thank you.
