No drive letter assigned after cloning - is this normal?

Thread needs solution

I have a Windows XP machine (PC A) that has 2 physical disks inside. Disk 1 is the C drive OS. Disk 2 is blank and will be a target to clone to.

I have an external USB drive which is the source disk from PC B, and I am cloning to Disk 2 of PC A. This completes successfully, however there are no drive letters assigned to Disk 2 in disk management on PC A.

If I put this drive back into the original computer (PC B) that it came from, I assume Windows will automatically assign drive letters if they are missing and it will boot normally?
