No Full Backup, Only Incremental
Hey all, I'm in a jam and wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I have Acronis 2009 and some how I was only doing incremental backups, not full backups. Is there anyway I can open the .tib files and just get the files out of those images? When I try to restore I get "Specify Location of the volume 1" error. I assume its looking for the full backup? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

No, thats just it..... there is no full backup. something happened to the backup schedule. Is there a way to extract the .tib image and get the files out of it?

When you get the message "speciify location of Volume 1" point it to the oldest tib file that you have in that folder. boot from the TI Recovery C D to try this. Unless the full can be found and recognized by the program, there is no hopes of recovery of any files.
If might help if you were to post a screen capture of your storage folder. Sort the tib files on date/time. such as shown here.

Grover H thanks for the help. I looked and all are incremental backups. There's no extraction software like winrar or something that can open the image?

Matt,
I cannot say with certainty that such does not exist but in my following of the forum for the past 8 years, I have never heard of a successful recovery or even tool that would read the files.
If the file is that important, you might consider commercial recovery if you believe the full to once have been stored on that disk. The charge for recovery I have heard could be more than several hundred dollars.
