No instructions on zip file backup in documentation or program

Thread needs solution

I see in the manual, TrueImage2013_userguide_en-US of September 2012, that Acronis True Image 2013 released in 2012 can back up files using the zip format. But nowhere does it tell you how to do it. I searched through every instance of the word, zip, in the manual. I looked through file backup options in the program but found no mention of zip backups. I would like to perform a zip backup of my linux files. Please tell me how to do a zip backup and where it is explained in the manual if I have overlooked it.

I believe it's an option when you create a files/folders backup (rather than a disk/partition backup image).

Well thank you. But a files backup is what I have been trying to do. I don't see it in backup options.

Sorry, I've never used a Zip option and I don't have the Windows True Image in front of me at the moment.

You could check the user manual or various tutorials in the left margin of this forum, or try a forum search.

To my knowledge, you can only backup or image to a zip file as part of a 'reserve location', in other words, you will end up with a tib and a zip copy.

It's under 'destination' that defaults to "C:\MyBackups" If you select 'browse', you can select .zip in 'save as type' picker.
